The Chronicle of Philanthropy reported this week that the Red Cross specially formed committee to investigate whether its recently resigned Exec also stole money has concluded that he did not.

Whew! Am I glad.  I mean really, you would expect that a guy who's sleeping with subordinates (and not really, as I understand, it was a Chapter Manager and that's not the same as a subordinate) must be up to no good in other ways.  NOT!  Sleeping with a subordinate and stealing are two really different exercises that may or may not reveal trustworthiness never mind competence.

What is for sure however is that when a nonprofit board loses faith and trust, it is really hard to get it back.  Too bad to 'cause I am thinking the recently departed ED was actually one very smart person who could have had a positive impact on the Red Cross.
