The Reagan-Udall Foundation is the opportunity of a lifeime for the FDA and for drug companies.

As I understand it, this recently created congressional structure will advance the cause of medical solutions in the interest of the public.

Yes, drug companies face multitudinous obstacles in working collaboratively and this slows down the progress in finding medicinal cures to the health issues that plague US citizens.  In addition, the FDA, as it stands as an objective and independent force ensuring the safety of US citizens is bureaucratic and mechanically so slow that it too inhibits the ability of the (legal) drug world to create cures to illnesses.

So, as an individual focused on governance the big question for me: can the drug companies (throwing in the money) and the regulators (the FDA) truly fulfill their duties of care, loyalty and obedience when sitting at the Foundation table -- can they really put their self-interests and responsibilities aside for the mission of the Foundation.  And, do we really want both parties to do just that......?
